Clarke County is located in south central Iowa. It is named for James Clarke, a governor of Iowa Territory.
The seat and the largest city are both Osceola.
Main highways through the county include I-35, US-34, US-69 and IA-152.
The county borders Decatur, Lucas, Madison, Union and Warren Counties.
